EVERYDAY USE
  • Wipe the surface regularly with a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth.
  • For heavier dirt, you can use a mild cleaning agent, such as water mixed with a small amount of dish soap.
  • Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning - avoid letting moisture sit on the wood.
  • Do not use products containing alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive particles - these can damage the lacquer.
  • Avoid rough sponges, scouring pads, or any abrasive materials.
  • WHAT TO DO IF SMALL SCRATCHES APPEAR ?

Lacquer is durable, but light surface scratches may occur over time. Here’s what you can do:

  • Use a wood touch-up marker (available in most hardware or furniture stores) to hide minor marks.
  • For deeper scratches or chips, we recommend reaching out to us or consulting a professional who specializes in lacquered furniture.
  • ADDITIONAL TIPS
  • Always use coasters and trivets under mugs, plates, and hot dishes – heat can damage the finish.
  • Don’t leave wet items on the table - standing water can cause permanent stains.
  • Wipe up spills like wine, coffee, juice, or vinegar immediately to avoid discoloration.
  • Avoid using furniture polish or wax-based products - they can leave a greasy residue or dull the finish.
  • Position the table away from direct sunlight, which can cause gradual fading or yellowing of the lacquer.
  • Never place steam-producing devices (like humidifiers) directly on the tabletop.
  • Use felt pads under decor, flowerpots, and other accessories to prevent scratches.
  • The lacquered surface does not require oiling or waxing. Do not attempt to refinish or sand the lacquer yourself.
  • Maintain a Stable Environment

To preserve the beauty and longevity of your wooden table, it’s crucial to maintain a stable indoor environment. Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Proper conditions help prevent warping, cracking, or fading over time. Follow these key guidelines to keep your table in perfect shape:

    18-22°C

    Temperature

    50-60%

    Ideal Humidity

How to Care for Oiled Furnilo Tables?

Our oiled Furnilo tables are crafted from solid wood and finished with natural Osmo oil - a professional-grade treatment made from plant-based oils and waxes. It’s completely safe for children, adults, and pets. With the right care, your table will age gracefully and preserve its natural beauty and strength for years to come.

    Oiled Tables - Maintenance Details

    EVERYDAY USE
  • Wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth - microfiber works best.
  • You can use just water, or water mixed with a small amount of gentle cleaner such as Osmo Spray Cleaner or OsmoWisch-Fix.
  • Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning - don’t leave moisture on the wood.
  • Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or strong detergents - they can strip away the protective oil finish.
  • REFRESHING THE TABLETOP - WHEN AND HOW OFTEN ?

When should you re-oil the tabletop?

  • The wood feels dry, rough, or dull to the touch.
  • You notice stains, discoloration, or minor scratches.
  • How often should you re-oil ?

We recommend reapplying oil every 6-12 months, depending on how frequently the table is used and how much exposure it has to sunlight, moisture, or wear.

HOW TO RE-OIL YOUR TABLETOP ?

You’ll need: Osmo TopOil (e.g. 3058 - matte finish) and an Osmo application pad or soft cloth.

  • Clean the surface thoroughly to remove any dust or dirt.
  • If the wood is heavily worn, lightly sand it using fine-grit sandpaper (P150–240).
  • Remove all sanding dust with a vacuum or soft broom.
  • Apply a thin, even coat of oil, following the direction of the wood grain.
  • Allow it to dry for 8-10 hours in a well-ventilated area.
  • (Optional) If the surface was heavily used, apply a second coat after drying. In most cases, one coat is enough to bring the surface back to life.
  • ADDITIONAL TIPS
  • Wipe up spills from wine, oil, vinegar, or colorful spices right away - wood can absorb them quickly and stain.
  • Avoid covering large areas for extended periods (e.g., with a tablecloth, placemats, or laptops), as wood may darken unevenly.
  • Never place hot pots or dishes directly on the surface - always use coasters or trivets.
  • Don’t use waxes or furniture polish - they can clog the wood’s pores and affect the finish.
  • Cloths used for applying oil must be rinsed immediately after use, or stored in a sealed metal container - they may spontaneously combust if left exposed.
  • Before using any new cleaning or maintenance product, test it on a small, hidden area of the table first.
